Car accidents: Ohio Teen dead following serious crash

Police have confirmed the death of a 17-year-old boy from New Carslisle following a devastating accident on a local roadway. The Ohio State Police have identified the deceased teenager as well as the other three teens in the car. Car accidents of this type are usually the result of driver error, negligence, recklessness or even intoxication, but require considerable investigation to determine their cause.

Car accidents: Alcohol suspected in single-vehicle crash

Police are still looking into a serious accident that claimed one life and sent another person to a local hospital. Ohio authorities believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, which killed an 18-year-old male driver in the early morning of Jan. 4. As with most car accidents of this type, an in-depth police investigation is still underway as of this report.

Ohio saw rise in auto accident fatalities in 2019

Here and across the U.S., auto accident injuries and fatalities happen all-too frequently. There are many perceived causes for these collisions and law enforcement is constantly seeking strategies to reduce their number. Included in these causes are a distracted driver and a driver who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. For people who have been hurt in a crash or lost a loved one, it is important to consider how and why it happened as they think about what steps to take in the aftermath.

Drivers need to take care during winter

Winter can be harsh in Ohio, which is why Ohio drivers need to make sure they drive safely to help keep other travelers safe. Failing to exercise care for the safety of other motorists and passengers when driving conditions become treacherous can result in negligence on the part of the driver and leave them liable to any victims for the damages they suffer in a car accident.

Victims of distracted drivers can get help seeking damages

Distracted driving is a serious concern on roadways everywhere, including in Ohio. Texting and driving kills and seriously injures hundreds of victims in the region each year. It is important for victims of distracted drivers to know how to seek to impose liability and argue for the recovery of compensation so that their physical, emotional, and financial damages can be appropriately addressed.

Lost future earnings should be part of your compensation package

After someone is injured in a car accident, a personal injury lawsuit is concerned largely with reconstructing the accident and the moments immediately before it, in order to determine the truth of what happened and who was at fault. However, it's also important for these cases to look at the future and how the effects of the accident will change the life of the injured and their families for the months and years ahead.
