A young child was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being hit by a Metro bus in Cincinnati, Ohio. The boy, still unidentified, was hit near the intersection of Winneste and Craft around 7:30 a.m. Police believe that the boy ran out from behind a car to follow his sister across the roadway.
A 14-year old tenn cyclist suffered severe injuries this past Sunday afternoon after colliding with a Ford F-150. The truck attempted to pass the teen cyclist as both were traveling westbound on Lockwood Road in Sandusky Ohio. The teen turned his bicycle in front of the truck, smacked the truck's windshield, and ultimately fell in the middle of the road.
The number of pedestrian accidents has increased during the last few years. Many safety advocates blame the constant use of cellphones and other electronic devices that many pedestrians use while walking near traffic or across the street.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wants hybrid and electric vehicles to be louder to help protect pedestrians throughout the U.S.
