Attorney Michele Young of the law firm of Gregory S. Young Co., LPA has been named as a Breast Cancer Awareness Advocate by the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners. May 19, 2022, was named the “Michele L. Young Day” in Hamilton County.
Michele Young was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in 2018 and was told to go through her bucket list. Her bucket list not only included beating cancer, but also changing laws to provide all women with the right to affordable and effective breast cancer screening technology. She authored, advocated, and shepherded what became Ohio House Bill 371.
Against the odds, Michele surpasses 3 years of complete remission. She continues to quarterback Ohio’s breast cancer bill to becoming law. This could help save the lives of tens of thousands of women.
In addition to her breast cancer advocacy work, she is actively involved in local charities and events including the Patricia Collins and the Bootsy Collins Foundation, Operation Backpack, the Armed Forces Ticket Association, the “Don’t Text and Drive” campaign, and more. She was the endorsed Democratic candidate for Ohio’s first Congressional district in 2016.
