Cincinnati’s Winton Road has been the site of two serious car accidents in recent weeks.
One accident proved deadly and also involved a car fire. A driver at some point lost control of her vehicle and crossed into oncoming traffic. As a result, she stuck another SUV that was traveling from the opposite direction.
Both the driver and the passenger of the SUV that crossed into oncoming traffic suffered major injuries, and the driver eventually succumbed to them.
There were 4 people, including 2 children, in the other vehicle. Rescuers took most of them to nearby hospitals for treatment. Police expect the victims to survive their injuries, but that does not mean that they have no expenses and losses to cover as a result.
Police continue to investigation and have not ruled out speeding or impaired driving as causes of this tragic car accident.
Drivers seem to be losing control on Winton Road frequently
Unfortunately, the recent fatal accident was not an isolated incident. The weekend prior to the fatal crash, several other victims were pinned into their vehicle after another major accident on Winton Road. One of the victims of this accident was reportedly in critical condition.
While the details of the prior accident were vague, these incidents can serve as an important reminder to those who travel on Cincinnati’s urban thoroughfares.
These roads are often busy and have traffic traveling at speeds much higher than what one would find on the neighborhood streets.
It is critical that drivers on these streets follow all safety laws, maintain a safe speed for the conditions and pay careful attention to their driving. Should they fail to do, victims may be entitled to compensation under Ohio law.
