Four critically injured and one dead in Ohio 81-car crash

Most of the time, when we hop in the car, nothing significance happens. We safely arrive at our destination and then go back home. Unfortunately, whether one is driving down the interstate in bumper-to-bumper traffic or taking a more scenic route, it is possible that the drive will end in a car crash.

For example, an Ohio woman lost her life and four other individuals suffered injuries after being involved in an auto wreck on Ohio 81. The deceased woman, age 57, was sitting in the passenger seat of a convertible when the accident occurred.

The 67-year-old driver of that convertible was airlifted to an area hospital and is reportedly in critical condition. A 43-year-old woman was operating the other vehicle involved in the accident, a Honda Civic.

There were two children in her vehicle at the time of the crash. One was a 12-year-old boy and one was a 7-year-old boy. All three of the occupants of the Honda Civic were airlifted to an area hospital and are reportedly in critical condition.

As of right now, the incident is still under investigation, and it is not yet known in what direction each automobile was heading. But, according to investigators, it is possible that one vehicle left its lane, causing a head-on collision.

After colliding, the convertible wound up coming to rest on a person's lawn, and the Honda Civic was thrust on the roadway. Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a safety belt. Police are performing a crash reconstruction that utilizes a laser system to determine where the automobiles were at the time of the crash. After the investigation is through, a full report of the accident will be made available.

Serious head-on collisions, like this one, can cause significant injuries or fatalities. While it remains to be seen how fault will be apportioned in this crash, it is important for individuals involved in car accidents, like these, to understand their legal options, if any. In some cases, it is possible to file a personal injury lawsuit against the party that caused the crash.
