Investigation underway in fatal motorcycle crash

Many factors contribute to the fact that motorcycle accidents are often more dangerous than other types of accidents. One of these is the differences in the sizes of the vehicles involved-a passenger vehicle provides more protection than a motorcycle does in the event of an accident. In addition to this, bikers themselves have little protection-people in a car can protect themselves with a seatbelt, which it is mandatory to wear but bikers often only have kneepads to protect themselves. Wearing a helmet is not even mandatory after the age of 17. Readers of the Cincinnati Car Accident Blog may have read the recent post on motorcycle accidents and the importance of wearing them to reduce injuries and even possible death in the event of a crash.

It is unknown yet whether the motorcyclist involved in a recent fatal accident in Ohio was wearing a helmet or not. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident between a car and a motorcycle in the early afternoon. The victim, the motorcyclist, was in his early thirties, with the rest of his life in front of him.

Losing someone in a tragic and sudden motorcycle accident places an emotional and financial burden on loved ones left behind. Not only do family members have to come to terms with never seeing their loved one again, but if the victim is the sole breadwinner, they have financial considerations to contend with as well.

Family members can consider holding the careless party responsible for their role in a fatal accident through a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit. The compensation received through a suit may provide some much needed financial relief for the victim’s loved ones.
