One dead, one toddler injured in Ohio car accident

Losing a loved one in a sudden car accident can wreak emotional and financial havoc on loved ones. Not only do they have to come to terms with their loss, but they also may find themselves facing financial pressures that they were not anticipating. These financial considerations may often overshadow a family’s grieving process and prevent them from obtaining closure.

One way to obtain closure is to file a personal injury or wrongful death claim against the reckless driver who caused the accident. These charges are independent of the criminal charges the authorities may or may not file against the driver. No charges have been filed so far in a tragic and fatal car accident in Ohio recently.

According to witnesses, a 27-year-old woman was driving a vehicle with two passengers, including a two-year-old. Witnesses claim she ran a stop sign and collided with the vehicle being driven by a 36-year-old man, but the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident to determine the cause.

One of the passengers in the 27-year-old woman’s car died at the scene of the accident and the two-year-old was taken to the hospital to receive medical attention for injuries.

When filing a civil claim, an experienced attorney may not only help the victims and their family members with the legalities of the matter but also in determining the cause of the accident and where fault should lie. This investigation may be independent of the police’s investigation.

Though it is not possible to quantify the loss family members sustain when they lose loved ones in car accidents, a civil claim may make finances available to cover funeral or medical expenses. It may also allow family members the opportunity to focus on their grief rather than anything else.
