The safety of those traveling on the roadway depends on the good driving practices of the numerous drivers that travel on the roadways. A driver or a passenger could suddenly be injured or killed in an accident caused by a negligent driver. Whether they are speeding, distracted or under the influence, the negligent driver could seriously affect the lives of many on the roadway. This is especially true if a vehicle collides with a truck. The impact of a truck crash often leaves the automobile severely damaged and those traveling inside of it seriously injured or even killed.

The Ohio Highway Patrol was recently dispatched to the scene of a truck accident that occurred on Ohio 104 around 1:19 p.m. The accident involved a Ford Taurus and a semi-truck. The two vehicles collided when the driver of the Ford was traveling south on Ohio 104 and her vehicle crossed the centerline just south of Boswell Run Road. This caused the vehicle to collide the semi-truck that was heading northbound on the roadway.

Emergency crews arrived to the scene and assessed those involved. The driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and did not survive the accident. The two passengers in the vehicle were seriously injured in the truck accident and were transported to the hospital for treatment. The truck driver was reported to be uninjured in the accident.

When an individual is affected by the negligence of a driver, they could file a civil action. Even if the party at fault did not survive the crash, the injured party could file a personal injury claim against the deceased person’s estate. The civil suit could provide the injured party with compensation, which could be used to cover medical bills and other damages.

When a driver fails to uphold their duty of care while operating a vehicle, others could be seriously injured. It is important that these victims be aware of their options, especially when it comes to recovering compensation for the injuries they suffered. This could help them deal with financial burdens associated with the crash.
