Deadly crash claims two lives in Wayne County, Ohio

A deadly car crash took two lives in Wayne County on Sunday afternoon. The crash occurred on U.S. 250 east, just west of Fountain Nook Road. James Magyar, 55, struck Don Grossniklaus, 78, who was traveling in the opposite direction on U.S. 250. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Matthew Magyar was a passenger in Magyar’s vehicle, and was taken to Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening.

The Magyars were wearing their seatbelts, but Grossniklaus was not. The Ohio State Highway Patrol closed U.S. 250 for 4 hours after the collision. The crash is still under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway patrol reported that 10 people have now been killed in traffic crashes in Wayne County this year.
