3 drunk driving accidents in 3 hours, by the same driver!

Yes, you read that caption right, a woman was recently cited for causing three separate drunk driving accidents within three hours of each other. While this may sound amazing, the woman, in fact, admitted that she was responsible for the three crashes.

All of the collisions occurred this past Friday in the afternoon, between the hours of 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. According to reports, in the first accident, the driver sideswiped another vehicle in a hit-and-run crash. The other driver reportedly attempted to avoid a head-on collision with the drunk driver who was driving in the wrong lane.

Thankfully, the other driver was able to swerve out of the way in the nick of time and avoid serious injuries. However, the drunk driver left the scene of the accident and kept on driving.

In the second accident, the woman drove her vehicle into a ditch. She left the scene of this accident as well, and before law enforcement officials could arrive on the scene. In the final accident, the woman drove into oncoming traffic and crashed into another vehicle head-on. In this accident one person did suffer injuries.

Finally, after this last accident the 21-year-old woman was cited for causing injury by driving while intoxicated. However, she was never taken to jail. She was also cited for driving left of the center line, failing to maintain control of a vehicle and a hit-and-run accident involving an occupied motor vehicle.

Though this story happened outside of Ohio, it is important because it shows how dangerous drunk drivers can be. Whenever a drunk driver is driving on Ohio roadways, their inability to properly control their vehicle, be aware of their surroundings, and stay in their lane can result in serious injuries that can have life-altering consequences for them as well as others. These consequences can include serious injury or death and leave a family devastated both emotionally and financially.

Countless personal injury and wrongful death claims result from drunk driving accidents every day in this country. Drunk driving is negligence pure and simple.
